From: Vice President for Health Affairs <VPHA@uchc.edu>
Earlier this week, I met with healthcare and business leaders in the
region including UConn Board of Trustees Chairman Lawrence McHugh,
President Michael Hogan and officials from Hartford Hospital and St.
Francis Hospital and Medical Center, regarding continuing collaborations
with the Health Center. The meeting is discussed in today's Hartford
Courant:

Together with President Hogan, I had the opportunity to re-state my firm
commitment that a full service acute care hospital and a robust clinical
enterprise are the future of the UConn Health Center. We will settle for
nothing less.
In the days and months ahead, the Health Center's future will continue
to be widely discussed in public forums. As this process continues, I
will do all I can to share news and keep you informed. In turn, I
appreciate your efforts every day to keep the Health Center at the
forefront of clinical care, research and education. There's a lot to be
proud of! Thank you for your continued excellence and support.
Sincerely,
Cato T. Laurencin, M.D., Ph.D.
