Dear Interested Faculty and Guests,
Looking forward to an informative conversation tomorrow (11/12/09) on the question of a faculty union (No or Yes) at UCHC. Three members of the UMDNJ community and AAUP chapter will join us remotely to share their experience. The conference will begin at 3pm EST in the Low Learning Center auditorium. Any members of the UCHC faculty or administration are welcome.
I have consulted with Pam Deschaine here about the best approach for connecting with outside voices tomorrow. We agreed that teleconferencing is simplest and most robust (phone calls with no video; sound throughout the Low Auditorium; microphones for attendees who speak).
If you cannot attend the meeting physically:
ALL telephone participants will dial 860-679-8401. If dialing from within the health center all you need to dial is the extension 8401. If you have any trouble reaching this number, please call my or Pam's phones (below) to let us know what the trouble is.
We will explore the possibility of an audio recording of the meeting, to allow UCHC clinical and other faculty with scheduling conflicts to hear the conversation after the fact. This will require some agreement among faculty that they will allow their voices to be recorded speaking candidly, and we will therefore query attendees/callers tomorrow as to what they will allow. There is also a $120 fee for any recording, payable by UCHC FRS coding, which has not yet been covered.
