Several readers on the list have suggested that a blog may be a better way in which to continue this discourse, rather than Reply-All emails.
I have posted the 36 previous messages over the past 3 days that I have received via Reply-All mail on a blog at the following address. [note: additional posts have been added in days since 8/27/09]

This blog is not included on public blog listings, nor is it searchable via external web search engines (search does work within this page). Anyone who follows the link http://uchcfacultydiscourse.blogspot.com/, however, will be able to read the posted discussions.
All of these postings are open for commenting by any reader. If you prefer to make your input on the blog-site, please begin now. If you prefer the visibility and immediacy of Reply-All email, I for one do not object to having your opinion delivered to my inbox. I can always ignore or attend to it as I choose.
