In a letter to a faculty member who had requested absentee ballots, Commissioner Patricia Mayfield restated that it is not the policy of the Labor Relations Board to accept or offer absentee ballots. As many predicted, all votes cast on Unionization with AAUP must occur in person on November 17-18.
Note that there are over 3 weeks until the vote. Any faculty member with plans to travel or assignments to work off site on those days should consider rescheduling such commitments in order to be in Farmington during the hours of the ballot, if s/he wants to have a say in the decision.
