Hi,
I sure hope that salary is not the only thing the faculty is focusing on. There are much bigger issues at stake. If the goal is to have an active role in the shaping of the destiny of the medical school and in the shaping of our academic careers then working collectively as an association makes sense to me. I agree with not basing the vote purely as a salary issue. It would be short sighted and assuming that salaries will be the driver in the decision making will be I believe insulting to the intellect and aspirations of the faculty.
