For what its worth, you can pull up the data on NIH grants and compare UConn to UCHC in terms of number of faculty versus number of NIH grants on a departmental basis.
Comparing the top departments in each institution in terms o fnumbers of grants received for 2008 (latest data available) they are:

Psychology 56 faculty 25 grants
Biochemistry 36 faculty 9 grants

Total 109 faculty 43 grants
