Consulting the UCHC-AAUP web page, I just noticed the acknowledgment of an organization that I did not know existed:
The UCHC-AAUP Faculty Association
"As a result of meetings on October 13, 2009 between the Connecticut State Labor Board, the UCHC-AAUP Faculty Association with the support of UConn, Storrs AAUP, and UCHC Administration, the CT Labor Board certified an election for collective bargaining by UCHC faculty."
So far, I am not familiar with this group. Am I a member? Is there a leader? Can anyone who is either a member or a leader please fill me in on the details of who comprise this decision-making body with the power to approve or disapprove the voting access of other faculty of the institution?
Also, when and where were this meeting(s)? Obviously, I and others would have been interested in being involved! Why were we excluded? Because our names were not on cards?
Many thanks in advance for clearing this up for me and the rest of the Faculty,
Bill
