Democratic elections for political positions at all levels have mechanisms for absentee voting for the exact reason that it is imposible to schedule elections that are convenient for everyone. The same applies here and I see no reason why there isn't an absentee mechanism. Asking everyone to plan ahead is just as unrealistic as finding a convenient date for everone. All we are asking for is an opportunity to vote.
