I was not making a judgment about the vote outcome in regard to a majority opinion or not. My point is that we as faculty should have demonstrated more investment of this issue by attending the meetings where we could have had a face to face interchange that I think would have been more productive and informative than the e-mail venue.
As a society we seem to talk less and rely on electronic communication. This may be fine for many matters, but important ones like this should compel us to make the effort before the fact and not after.
