The ONE vote that won the election for AAUP was MINE.
However, I feel an obligation to follow through on my previous commitment to seeing that the faculty were truly represented. It is absurd to contend that AAUP has a mandate, especially when so many were unable to vote. If you cannot at least listen to the voting-rights concerns of nearly 15% of the faculty, then it's hard to imagine effective representation of the whole group during collective bargaining in the future.
